    Updating my last review because this place is still killer. Amazing food, home made bread, friendly staff and I'm 90% sure the owner is the cook. Great prices, just be sure to bring cash.

    They have veggie options and take it very seriously when you tell them. My dad eats meat and says their sausage is amazing, and back in the day, the original owner (the guys dad) use to make the sausage on the side. My dad has been going here since forever ago, think early 90s,and the quality hasn't changed. This place is a gem, a true Hartford staple.

    Just be aware that they aren't open on Sundays.

    Allegro's is a breakfast and lunch place, dominated by a long counter, that can really turn it on. I just had chicken saltimbocca, cooked from scratch, that rivals anything you can get at a Hartford restaurant!

    We have been coming here for a few years now. Mostly for breakfast. While we are not regulars, we have always received excellent service. It's a no-frills kind of place. It probably hasn't been updated in years. It's clean the food is good and the portions are incredibly generous. Instead of toast you get big slices of homemade crusty bread. It's "comfort food" type of breakfast.

    We love the food at Allegro Cafe. The potato's are the best part of the breakfast. The portions are huge! Never dissatisfied.

    I had a pleasant experience here today. Simple but great  I called And ordered a bacon egg and cheese and picked it up ten minutes later. It was ready as expected and the gentleman behind the counter was so pleasant. Cheap, simple, and good   I'll be back when I have the time to sit down.
